MOST ADMIRED AND EXCEPTIONAL
God Choice honey is sourced exclusively from a single type of flower, ensuring that no two types of honey are mixed, allowing for easy identification and traceability. Our honey is raw and free from additives.
Containing approximately 180 different bio-active and other compounds, our raw honey retains its natural goodness. Unlike pasteurized honey, which is heated at 80°C, our honey preserves a vast array of bio-active compounds, antioxidants, antimicrobial molecules, and other nutrients.
Raw honey may naturally crystallize over time. Unlike commercially available honey that undergoes fine filtration to remove bee pollen, minimizing crystallization for aesthetic appeal, our honey remains unfiltered, retaining natural bee pollen. It undergoes only mild straining to eliminate unwanted bee debris, wax, and foreign substances.
Bees collect pollen grains from flower anthers, combining them with nectar and saliva to store in their combs. Bee pollen is a superfood rich in protein, vitamins, minerals, and possesses anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and antiviral properties, contributing to the health of the bee colony.
AN ANCIENT FOOD
Honey, an ancient food mentioned in the Rigveda and Upanishads dating back 10,000 years, is cited as a sweetening agent 300 times in the Rigveda, the world's oldest scripture. The Ramayana, around 4,000 years old, provides detailed descriptions of bee gardens (Madhuvana) and large-scale honey collection during this period.
In Hinduism, honey holds significance and is offered to gods. Temples conduct rituals like Madhu Abhisheka, where honey is poured over deities.
AN AYURVEDA PERSPECTIVE
Honey, known as "Madhu" in Ayurvedic scriptures, holds a significant place as a medicinal substance in Ayurveda. It is renowned for its capacity to mitigate the effects of 'Kapha dosha' in our body.
In Ayurveda, honey is also referred to as ‘Yogavahi,’ indicating its quality of permeating the deepest tissues of our body. When honey is combined with other herbal preparations, it amplifies the medicinal properties of those formulations, facilitating their penetration into the deeper tissues of our body.
ETHICAL BEEKEEPING
Honey production is a complex process.
It involves the dedication of twelve worker bees working diligently from dawn to dusk throughout their entire lifespan to produce just one teaspoon of honey.
Additionally, for the creation of one kilogram of honey, worker bees must visit an astonishing four million flowers. Our commitment to ethical beekeeping is reflected in our encouragement for beekeepers to adopt a hive management approach that prioritizes the well-being and natural behavior of the bees, ensuring a bee-centered and sustainable practice.
A WONDERFUL NATURAL ANTIOXIDANTS
Honey is indeed a remarkable natural antioxidant. Antioxidants are generally classified into two categories: nutrient antioxidants, which include vitamins A, B, C, and minerals, and phytochemical antioxidants. Phytochemicals often exhibit more potent antioxidant properties compared to the first category.
Honey encompasses both types of antioxidants. Raw honey contains a variety of phytochemicals such as apigenin, pinocembrin, kaempferol, quercetin, galangin, chrysin, hesperetin, ellagic acid, p-coumaric acid, and ferulic acid.
Antioxidants function by scavenging free radicals in the body cells, thereby mitigating the damage caused by these harmful molecules.
Due to its rich antioxidant content, honey is believed to be beneficial in combating various diseases, including arthritis, Parkinson's disease, coronary heart disease, and certain types of cancer. Additionally, it is thought to play a role in slowing the aging process.
A NATURAL ANTIBACTERIAL
Unpasteurized honey possesses natural antibacterial properties, aiding in the prevention of infections in the body. The antibacterial attributes in honey are primarily due to the presence of hydrogen peroxide, which is complemented by its low pH value. Regular consumption of honey inhibits the growth of microbes in our body, contributing to overall health. Honey is utilized for both nutritional and medicinal purposes.
A SPOONFUL OF HONEY WITH WARM WATER
Take a spoonful of honey with warm water on an empty stomach in the morning. Honey is packed with antioxidants, bioactive compounds, vitamins, and minerals, and possesses natural antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties.
Drinking honey with warm water helps flush out toxins from the body, improves digestion, boosts immunity, enhances skin tone, and prevents premature aging.
